Trains In Heavy Snow! Norfolk Southern Train Diverging From CSX Tracks, Crossing Over 2 Tracks & Getting On Home Rails Coming Straight At Me! CSX Seaboard Heritage Unit Leading Train In Snow At Favorite Railroad Crossing. Train With DPU In Snow At Night In Hamilton Ohio. Train Station Update In The Snow. Driving In Snow For Fun! After the huge, record setting snow, we got another few inches of snow while I was on the CSX Toledo Sub. First we see a train coming straight at the camera. This is a Norfolk Southern train on CSX tracks. The train has a DPU and is crossing from Main 1 to Main 2 and then diverging off the CSX onto the Norfolk Southern New Castle Sub. Notice the awesome "Shave & A Hair Cut" train horn salute! Next we see the CSX Seaboard Heritage Unit leading a train in the snow at Heaton Street. Trains were far and few between due to the weather and a derailment on the NS Rat Hole Line near Sadieville, Kentucky. We didn't get any northbound NS trains due to that but I did get a couple southbound. I show the rail before and after the train. First, the rail is covered in snow and then we see it shining after the train passes over it. We also hear my railroad radio as the train passes the defect detector. Then we take a look at the Hamilton Depot and drive around town a little in the snow. I actually like driving in snow. My truck has big tires and I keep it in four wheel drive. The final train is another big train with a DPU. It was dark and the snow was coming down pretty good. The railroad crossing that I filmed at is Butler Street and it is lit up very well. That was an awesome train! Actually, I got a few other CSX trains and I will make a Part 2 that will include the highlights of my long drive home. This video would have been too long if I would have put all the trains into one video. One of the trains was filmed at a crossing that I have only filmed one other time.
