The Netflix series Shadow and Bone has been all the rage amongst subscribers and we couldn’t agree more. Based on the books written by Leigh Bardugo, the series follows Alina Starkov who has just unearthed her power to summon the sun. On a quest to save her country from the Shadow Fold she begins training with magical soldiers called Grisha. Of course, nothing is ever as it seems. With a new show comparable to Game of Thrones, we couldn’t help but get a little curious as to how life behind the scenes of the series was. With perfectly casted actors like Ben Barnes, Jessie Mei Li, Freddy Carter, and Kit Youn, we weren’t surprised to hear filming in Budapest was basically a dream to them. However, there were other aspects of the show's creation that we were stunned to uncover. From the world building and costumes all the way to the stunts and visual effects, we’re seeing the series in a whole different light now. Even the series soundtrack has some pretty big names tied to it. Wait until you hear what Shadow and Bone, Divergent, and The Greatest Showman all have in common...you’ll never guess. We’re thinking this could definitely be Game of Thrones 2.0. Ready to head into the Grishaverse? We love getting to see all the effort that went into the creation of this epic series.
