Is it now a alternative to the ubiquitous 4Runner? Under the hood, it’s powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine that now uses a dual overhead cam design, making 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive. Towing capacity is rated at up to 5,000 pounds. Fuel economy is estimated at 19 mpg city and 25 highway for the base model, while TrailSport and Elite trims are slightly lower at 18 city and 23 highway. Three trims are available for 2026: RTL, TrailSport, and TrailSport Elite. The Passport RTL includes leather-trimmed seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated front seats, a power tailgate, and a 10.2-inch digital gauge cluster. TrailSport adds genuine off-road hardware like steel skid plates, recovery hooks, and 18-inch General Grabber all-terrain tires, along with a panoramic sunroof and synthetic leather upholstery with orange contrast stitching. At the top of the lineup, the TrailSport Elite adds ventilated leather seats, a heated steering wheel, Bose premium audio, ambient lighting, rear climate controls, and a 360-degree TrailWatch camera system. Pricing starts at $46,200 for the Passport RTL, $49,900 for the TrailSport, and $53,900 for the TrailSport Elite—all including destination. Blackout styling packages are available on each trim for an additional cost.
