Between the weather and supporting children through the next adventures, it was a challenge to get out under the stars at the start of 2023. But the year would evolve quickly with chances to capture nightly reflection in freshly thawed lakes and watch in awe as a millions of stars over the heads of thousand year Bristlecone pines. Heading to Michigan for a few weeks I would see the beautiful Northern Lights dancing over Lake Michigan, and return to Colorado to see hundreds of meteors and some exquisite fireballs throughout the autumn and winter as the Taurids, Leonids and Geminids lit up the night sky. I can only hope for more of these incredible sights as 2024 begins, and I know I’ll make it a priority to seek them out.
