This session from the 29th night of Ramadan 1447 at Irving Masjid features Shaykh Ramadan Elsabagh leading the congregation in four rak'ahs of Qiyam al-Layl. Qiyam Prayer Highlights (4 Rak’at) Lead Reciter: Shaykh Ramadan Elsabagh led the prayer with his distinct and powerful recitation style, known for its emotional resonance and clarity. Quranic Recitations: During the four rak'ahs, the Shaykh recited several significant passages from the Quran, focusing on themes of divine majesty, the afterlife, and the importance of faith: Surah Al-Anbiya: The recitation included verses detailing the stories of the Prophets, the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the ultimate return of all souls to Allah. A particularly moving section focused on the end of the world ("The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records..."). Surah Al-Ahqaf: Verses regarding the Jinn hearing the Quran and returning to their people as warners, and the command for patience ("So be patient, [O Muhammad], as were those of determination among the messengers..."). Surah Muhammad: The recitation emphasized the distinction between those who follow the truth and those who follow falsehood, and the promise of Paradise for the righteous. Atmosphere & Impact The session was marked by a high level of spiritual intensity, typical of the "Night of Power" (Laylat al-Qadr) window. The Shaykh’s recitation brought out the warnings and glad tidings within the verses, encouraging deep reflection (Tadabbur) among the congregants as they stood in the late-night prayer.
