It is with a heavy heart that I had to say goodbye to my Psalmopoeus cambridgei, Chilly. He was one of the most special tarantulas I have ever kept. This species (Psalmopoeus cambridgei) is known for being defensive, fast and quick to bite. Chilly was the complete opposite. He was gentle and taught me a huge lesson about tarantula behavior, personality, and the careful way we can interact with these animals. I called him my eight-legged fuzzy puppy because he was so gentle.
