Distal femur fractures present several challenges for the treating orthopedic surgeon. Metaphyseal comminution, a short articular segment, poor-quality bone, mismatch between anatomic axis and mechanical axis of the femur, and presence of arthroplasty implants can all make stable, durable fixation difficult to achieve. In this webinar, we will discuss the role of single implants and combination of implants to help facilitate the decision-making process and improve your patient’s outcomes. Learning Objectives: At the completion of this webinar, learners should be able to: • Discuss optimal fixation constructs for distal femur fractures • Distinguish clinical indications for plating, nailing, and combined fixation constructs in distal femur fractures • Develop a step wise approach for nail-plate combination in distal femur fractures.
