A downhill skateboarding documentary? We traveled to Morocco without a plan. Just 3 professional kids, skateboards and cameras to document our journey. It turned out to be a really different adventure from the ones we usually go on. Our first day in Marrakesh was crazy, I have never seen the boys so quiet, but everything changed when we took the boards out. While skating between bikes and cars, we started feeling at home and got to know the locals. From Marrakesh’s hustle and bustle we made our way to the east because.. just because of a road we found when we googled „Mountain Road Morocco“ without even knowing if it was skateable. Before actually skating it, we got lost in an Oasis and got to meet Mohamed in the middle of nowhere. He hooked us up with some food and tea, persim and mint. After this beautiful coincidence, Jan and Rob started bombing down the Dades Gorge road. What actually made it sketchy was that we didn’t have our longboards as usual, but went downhill on cruisers between the traffic. After having successfully skated DH in Morocco we tried to find more roads but all we found were random side quests: football matches, roses valley, sand boarding, paradise valley, Taghazout.. it turned out something different from a skate trip and usual ups & downs episodes, but whatever it was… we loved it and will come back to visit this beautiful country and people.
