It produces 28PS at 6000rpm and 38Nm at 4000rpm. In fact, the company claims 90 percent of the torque comes in at as low as 2000rpm. Braking is managed by a 320mm disc with axially-mounted ByBre caliper at the front and 240mm disc at the back. Dual channel ABS is offered as standard. It weighs 190.5kg kerb, has a seat height of 805mm and a decent 170mm of ground clearance. The Triumph Speed 400 is priced at Rs 2,33,000(ex-showroom Delhi). Also, Triumph will offer the bike at Rs 2,23,000 (introductory) for the first 10,000 customers. It will be available in only one variant, and in three colours: Carnival Red/Phantom Black, Caspian Blue/Storm Grey, and Phantom Black/ Storm Grey. The Triumph Speed 400 features modern LED lighting, sleek bar-end mirrors, convenient switchable traction control, and Bosch dual-channel ABS. While its semi-digital instrument cluster does not include smartphone connectivity or navigation, it offers a wealth of information such as a gear position indicator, distance-to-empty readout, and useful tell-tale lights. As the name suggests, the Speed 400 uses an all-new 398.15cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine. It produces 40PS at 8000rpm and 37.5Nm at 6500rpm, working in conjunction with a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch. Triumph offers a generous 16,000km service interval on the Speed 400. The hybrid spine/perimeter tubular steel frame of the motorcycle houses the engine. The rear subframe is bolted onto this frame, and the front suspension features a 43mm inverted Big Piston Fork, offering a generous 140mm of wheel travel. At the rear, there's a gas-charged mono-shock with a remote reservoir that can be adjusted for preload, allowing for 130mm of wheel travel.
