Kongor Wutdit The overview of Dinka The Dinka are a group of several closely related peoples living in South Sudan along both sides of the White Nile. They cover a wide area along the many streams and small rivers, concentrated in the Upper Nile Region in Southeast Sudan and across into southwest Ethiopia. The Dinka Bor are a branch of River lake Nilotes that migrated from Bahr el Ghazal region where the Luo people that moved to East Africa and those who settled in central Uganda lived. The Dinka in Jonglei lived near the hot and humid homeland of the River Nile, with their population estimated to be slightly over 400,000 in Bor, Twic East and Duk counties according to the 2008 census. This Kongor video is showing how the main divisions and subdivisions. Lets our kids know the little you know about your community and communities around us. Most of the grouping are done according to the progeny, Alama (chiefs) and Buluuk (subchiefs) for easy identification during community works. Being a pastoral community, a man is valued by the number of cattle he is keeping. As a sign of pride, a man identifies an ox which he names after himself and composes a songs for it. Among the Dinka Bor, children born are named after their dead parents and kin.
