I Built a DIY Observatory for Stargazing - Part 2

In the heat from the sun I continue to build my mini observatory. In this second video I will show you how I made my own pier adapter from a brake disc to fit my SkyWatcher HEQ5 Pro mount as well as finishing the concrete pier and making sure it stands firmly in the ground. I also considered the cable management and integrated a 50 mm protective pipe inside the pier, coming up in the centre of the pier running down to under the floor. This will enable me to run network and power cables inside the pier eliminating cables hanging around. I will take a short brake for a holiday trip but stay tuned for part 3 of the build.
