Hey friends! I am so excited to be joining the discussion on the Goodreads Choice Awards this year. Having only read 1 book from the entirety of the longlist in every category, I figured this would be a great way on catching up with what is popular in the year 2025, challenging my tastes, and opening myself up to unfamiliar genres. I decided to go a step further and make it a fun game where I chose the book I most want to read and pit it up against the winner to see if I can beat the masses or if I need to humble myself and join the hype. In this video I reveal the upcoming match-ups, tell you which books caught my attention the most, and react to the winners. Will I get a knockout or will I be left crying and shamed? Only time will tell... P.S. I somehow messed up and said the complete wrong description for Heartless Hunter by Kristen Ciccarelli! That description was actually for Powerless by Lauren Roberts. --------------------------------------------------------- ✨Contact me at: bookswithbilliee@gmail.com ✨ 🌻Instagram: / bookswithbilliee 🌻 📚StoryGraph: https://app.thestorygraph.com/profile... 📚 --------------------------------------------------------- Chapters🕰: 0:00 Introduction and Explaining Parameters 3:02 Fiction 4:35 Historical Fiction 5:56 Mystery/Thriller 7:29 Romance 9:31 Romantasy 11:15 Fantasy 12:38 Science Fiction 14:15 Horror 16:10 Debut 17:24 Audiobook 19:20 YA Fantasy/Science Fiction 21:09 YA Fiction 22:29 Non-Fiction 24:51 Memoir 26:02 History and Biography 27:35 Finding Out The Winners 41:07 Concluding Thoughts --------------------------------------------------------- Books Mentioned: Cursed Daughters by Oyinkan Braithwaite What We Can Know by Ian McEwan The Names by Florence Knapp People Like Us by Jason Mott Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy Strangers In Time by David Baldacci The First Witch of Boston by Andrea Catalano The Lilac People by Milo Todd The Book Club For Troublesome Women by Marie Botswich Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid We Are All Guilty Here by Karin Slaughter Famous Last Words by Gillian McAllister You Killed Me First by John Mars The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman The Ghostwriter by Julie Clark Tourist Season by Brynne Weaver If It Makes You Happy by Julie Olivia First-Time Caller by B.
