Saltwick Bay Landscape Photography

Hi and welcome to my channel ‪@PeteBristoPhoto‬ Join me on a visit to Saltwick Bay Fine Art Photography near Whitby on the east coast of North Yorkshire, where I capture some stunning Fine Art Images of the Admiral Von Tromp shipwreck and the Black Nab plus a glorious sunset over the Saltwick Nab. I'll take you through my workflow for Fine Art Long-exposure Photography. I photographed the Admiral Von Tromp about 3 hours after high tide because it is not accessible until that time. If you're photographing the Admiral when the tide is coming in you have to be very careful not to get cut off. And you will have to sit on the hill for a few hours until it goes out! Conditions were great with a light breeze and soft ehtereal clouds which made the water fairly calm. This created lots of reflections of the Black Nab which was great. I often get asked what is Fine Art Landscape Photography? It is very subjective and down to the individual looking at it. My take on Fine Art Landscape Photography is that it's a genre that goes beyond documentary photography with personnel creative arty style of photography. It evokes emotions and tells stories through visual narratives often focusing on aspects of landscape. Such as using slow shutter speeds to change the look of water giving a etherial dreamy soft magical atmosphere. This why I love Fine Art Photography as it allows me the creative freedom to change the look of a scene and make it my own style!
