This Euro-spec 380SLC has thus undergone a total mechanical revision with a relentless focus on reliability and performance. As you can probably see, this single acceleration test was started with a mild brake-stand (torque/power launch) to induce a bit of wheel-spin off the line. We purposefully did NOT hold the car down in any gear/s but kept it in D/Drive with full throttle (beyond the kick-down button) throughout the entire run. Thus the transmission shifted itself, usually near the end of its peak power band: about 5500rpm. While we know the speedo (and coolant gauge) to be a tad optimistic, there may still be a tenth or two in red-lining the motor... but at this point the owners are absolutely delighted that their 41-year-old vehicle hit its manufacturer claim. Also, we hope you understand that we did not perform a simulated emergency brake test from 100km/h in a classic sports car without ABS. Performance data / statistics should be in the video.
