This tutorial explores the beauty, comfort and durability of applying garter stitch to the heel flap and Dutch/square heel turn. Stockinette stitch options for the heel turn are also demonstrated. If you understand the basics of sock knitting and want to try something new, then you will really enjoy this class. The Dutch Heel, also known as a square heel, maintains the same width of the turned heel from beginning to end and has a squared look once completed. Essentially, stitches from the center third of the heel flap will continue through the heel turn as stitches from the sides are decreased; this creates a band under the heel.
