These muscles are covered by anterior and posterior rectus sheath. There is fat in the first layer of the skin and a small fascia is also present. Below the Fascia, there is once again a layer of fat, which goes to the anterior rectus sheath. Below the rectus sheath are the rectus abdominis muscles and the posterior rectus sheath.
