How to Diagnose: Fixing Air Conditioning on my ND Project Miata

When diagnosing a Miata with air conditioning problems, there are a few things to keep in mind. The first step is to make sure that the AC system is actually turned on and functioning. Check to see if the AC compressor is engaging when you turn on the AC. If it's not engaging, it could be a sign of a problem with the compressor, wiring, or a low refrigerant level. Next, check the refrigerant level. You can do this by using a gauge to measure the pressure in the system. If the pressure is too low, it could be an indication that the system is leaking refrigerant. Inspect the AC system for any visible leaks, such as oily residue around fittings or hoses. That was not the case for my Miata. Next, Read codes with a Car Scanner to see if anything is unusual and might be affecting the Air Conditioning components. If that is not the case then finally open up the fuse box compartment in the engine bay and test the resistance of all fuzes. If nothing was broken then go in and closely check the fuses that are for A/C as well as its relative Relays and such. In my case I had the main A/C Relay without a +12volt current on one of its connectors son in conclusion I figured out that it was a snipped wire from below the fuze box that got snipped in the previous accident.
