Our daughter Madison turned two, 1 month before our cruise, so we finally had the opportunity to try @Carnival's Camp Ocean Penguins. Some background information (at the time of cruising): Amanda works from home and is with Madison 24/7. Madison has never been in daycare and has only ever been babysat by family. She participates in recreational programs with other children such as ballet, swim lessons and soccer. Going into our cruise, we knew that we wanted to introduce Madison to Camp Ocean so she could have the experience of playing with other children who aren't her cousins and to give us some separation. Personally, we planned to only take advantage of Camp Ocean on sea days as we would be taking her off the ship on port days. Prior to our cruise, we pre-registered Madison during the online check-in process, 14 days before our cruise. On Embarkation Day, we went to the Camp Ocean Open House and did the tour, met the staff and let her play with the toys. They gave us a ship phone to hold onto throughout the cruise, for when we would drop her off and if they needed to get a hold of us. During our cruise, we dropped her off on 2 different sea days. Upon drop off, we said our goodbyes and the staff helped her wash her hands. After the first drop-off, we were in tears, because it was truly the first time we were ever dropping her off with strangers. It was emotional for sure, but you'll have to stay tuned to see how our first Camp Ocean experience went... Justin, Amanda and Madison Barretto ...................................................................................................................................... Some words of encouragement for first-time Camp Ocean families: 🛳 If you are on the fence about trying Camp Ocean, we encourage you to try it. 🛳 If your child is like Madison and has never been in daycare, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce your child to playing with other children without having you around. 🛳 We felt comfortable leaving Madison at Camp Ocean, because the staff we met seemed caring and friendly and we knew that it would be a growing experience for her and us, even if it was for a short time. 🛳 We truly enjoy our daughter's company so going through the Camp Ocean experience for us was more about self-growth and showing her that it’s ok to be without Mommy & Daddy. 🛳 The first drop-off was the hardest! Bring tissue, if it's the first-time dropping off your child. Amanda definitely shed some tears. 🛳 Keep the ship phone on you after you drop off, just in case the staff need to get a hold of you. 🛳 Always bring your Sail & Sign card when picking up your child. .................................................................................................................................. 👉 Subscribe to our channel and click the bell 🔔 @barrettosontheloose DOWNLOAD our super handy packing lists: ✅ Cruise Packing List: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ccVc... ✅ Cruise Packing List For Infants & Toddlers: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_T51... 🛳️🛒 Check out our Amazon storefront to see our favorite CRUISE GADGETS: https://www.amazon.com/shop/barrettos... ⚓️ JOIN our Infants & Toddlers Carnival Facebook Group: https://web.facebook.com/groups/40237... 🌴 Follow us on Instagram: / barrettos_on_the_loose .................................................................................................................................. #cruising #cruisingcarnival #campocean #cruiseship #familycruise #carnivalcruise #carnivalpanorama #cruisevlog #cruiselife #cruisetips #cruisingwithatoddler #cruisingwithababy #cruisingwithkids #cruisechildcare Disclaimer: Our channel contains affiliate links, which means we receive a small commission on a purchase without any additional cost to you, if you purchase through our links.
