We took on Slide mountain in the Catskills during the winter, and lets just say...winter hiking is a whole different adventure❄️ this was only our third time hiking in the winter but our second out of four winter peaks required for the Catskill 3500. the snow, ice and cold definitely made this hike a lot more challenging- but also incredibly beautiful. Slide mountain is the highest peak in the Catskill mountains, and seeing it covered in snow made the entire trail feel magical. from the snowy forest to icy sections on trial, this hike tested our skills and reminded us that winter hiking requires and little extra give......and A LOT of layers.
