ACT Landcare Champions Kate and Peter Gullet have not only stewarded the land they have worked across generations of Peter’s family’s tenure, they have protected and preserved the heritage values of the property. At Lambrigg in Tharwa, ACT a gravestone marks the lives of two pioneering agricultural innovators – William and Nina Farrer. Close by you’ll find one of the most beautiful heritage gardens in the ACT, the original homestead and Angus cattle grazing happily in brassica crops where Australia’s first purpose bred wheat was created over 100 years ago. And Peter, Landcare ACT Member Council member, representing the Rural Landholders Association says there is a clear path for farmers to take in the ACT region when it comes to custodianship of the land. This video is part of a series developed by Landcare ACT, and funded by the Commonwealth Government Smart Farms Small Grants Program as part of the National Landcare Program.
