Treasure hunting through the city's amazing secondhand shops and watch boutiques has been our bread and butter but do not fold right away because we have more than that in our lineup! Thrifting for Timepieces Japan is a watch lover's paradise, and Tokyo is the epicenter of it all. From vintage Rolexes and Omegas to quirky Seiko automatics, you can find some incredible timepieces at a fraction of their retail price. One of my favorite spot would be in the form of BookOff Super Bazaar in any area of Japan. They have a huge selection of watches from all the major brands, as well as some lesser-known gems. I found a beautiful vintage Rolex Submariner there that was in mint condition for a fraction of the price. But the real treasures are often found in the backstreets of Tokyo. There are countless tiny shops tucked away in alleyways, filled with unique and affordable watches. You just have to be patient and do some digging to find them. More than just watches of course, Tokyo is not just about watches. The city is also a mecca for fashion and design. You can find everything from high-end designer boutiques to quirky vintage stores. Thrifting in Tokyo is more than just a shopping experience; it's a cultural immersion. You get to interact with locals, learn about their fashion sense, and discover hidden gems that you would never find in a tourist shop. So if you're ever in Tokyo, be sure to take some time to explore the city's secondhand shops. You might just find the perfect watch or piece of clothing to take home as a souvenir. Tokyo is a city of contrasts, where tradition meets the modern. It's a city that I love and always look forward to returning to. And if you're a watch lover like me, it's a city that you simply must visit. It is not a secret that finding the best deal for Seiko, Citizen, Orient and other watch brands can always be done in Japan. I myself can be considered guilty since this watch hobby started in this place. But what will happen if we will throw a challenge of $200 budget in getting a watch that I will really like? Is it hard to find a nice watch in Japan under $200 that is equivalent to 29.9k YEN! Obviously, Seiko 5 will not fit the budget challenge but maybe lady luck will favor our side. Citizen and Orient can be a strong candidate while Timex sits as a sleeper brand that is available. We also saw amazing watches from Casio, Tudor and even Omega.
