Cycling continuously through winter usually results in a few cycle related problems, but this year they all seemed to land at once. Broken spokes, pedals falling off, bottom brackets seizing, rear brakes completely failing and the final nail in the coffin of my Easton EC90SL carbon cranks. This is the story of how it all happened and my attempts to either fix it, bodge it or get the pros to fix it properly. 15th March 2024 A quick update. Just picked the bike up from the bike shop, the internal parts for the Sram Force 1 Brakes came in and have been fitted, I now have a back break again. He also torqued up my crank properly as I don't have an accurate torque wrench, he also oiled my rear mech where it connects to the frame as that was a bit stiff and not returning properly, nice touch. So hopefully thats me for a while, the only thing I could do now is change that bar tape, it's looking really tatty. But there's a part of me that likes it as it's confirmation of a well used machine.
