Book yourself a seat on the SS Omeo from the comfort of your home, as we retrace a 1903 journey through the fabulous Gippsland Lakes. With the use of old postcards from the era, combined with some newspaper images and more recent photographs of my own, we can follow and see for ourselves much of L.J.J.s journey in 1903. I have tried to stay close to the author's original narrative, but some text has been shortened or reworded and some sections omitted due to space limitation or for ease of reading, without altering the intended context. Some images have been colourised and/or enhanced for impact, emphasis and clarity. Changes have been kept to a minimum to preserve authenticity. Any changes to the old images have been noted in the top right corner with attributions.
