Demonstration of a combination pickup sound using two Lollar Imperial humbuckers and a DGN Custom Guitars Tru JGS single coil pickup. The pickup switch is nominally in the “bridge/middle” setting, combining both the bridge humbucker and the middle single coil, but the blend knob on this guitar has been utilized to add in some signal from the neck humbucker as well. This guitar is a custom 25 1/2” scale length superstrat guitar of my own design. The guitar has a roasted maple Warmoth neck with 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, a slim “Wizard” neck back profile, and locking tuners. The body is a roasted swamp ash Warmoth “Soloist” body finished with two coats of Odie’s Oil. The bridge and neck humbuckers are Lollar Imperials. The middle pickup is a DGN Custom Guitars Tru JGS single coil. This pickup is an emulation of the split coil of the DiMarzio Dual Sound pickups used in the middle position of Jerry Garcia’s late 70s guitars. The wiring harness in this guitar is from Smokey B Guitars. It offers coil splitting and phase inversion on push-pull pots as well as a blend knob for the bridge and neck pickups.
