It’s not uncommon to see bald eagles here along the Strait of Juan de Fuca — in fact, where we live, it’s unusual not to spot one on any given day. From juveniles to full-grown adults, they’re a regular and welcome presence in our skies. Their high-pitched screeches, cheeps, and other calls often surprise people who expect a deeper sound from such a large bird — but once you hear it echo across the water, there’s no mistaking it.
