[UPDATE] it seems the new DLSS is 4.5. from what I saw it give better results and you won't need that much sharpness anymore, if you are good on FPS then you can keep it on Latest which is 4.5 but reduce sharpening by 70% (something like 0.15 will be good) or completely remove sharpening. if you want to use DLSS 4.0 use "K" preset.
DLSS 4 is "K" preset which at the time of this video is the one I used, it is not heavy on performance like 4.5 and it's great. I still use Preset "K" because I want some frames.
if your games craches when using latest or 4.0 version then you can use "J" preset, it's a good one aswel. those are all much better than what Hunt currently has.
Some say Hunt Showdown looks blurry and like a low decoded video quality. that is true, the game uses and an old version of Anti-Aliasing which is blurry (crazy blurry on movement) even on Native and most people are running it with default settings. but the good thing is it doesn't butcher the texture details (like in RDR2), it blurs the overall image which can be countered with some sharpening.
sharpening as a post process isn't always the efficient way but it gets the job done.
here is an almost uncompressed (small loss due to editing) video of this post so you can check the quality (1080p):

Anyways this is for PC (sorry consoles), and changing all sorts of settings is very normal so all you need is make 2 changes:
1- Use the old sharpening in Nvidia control panel : Sharpening set to 0.65, and Ignore Film Grain to 0.
if you are seeing only one option then do not use it, that one is scaling down the resolution then apply the sharpen which ruins the picture big time. to restore the old Sharpening settings like shown in the video, go to the registry editor (type: regedit on windows search) and go to :
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services
vlddmkm\Parameters\FTS
look for "EnableGR535" and change the value from 1 to 0. (maybe a pc restart is needed)
you can look online for comfirmation if you have doubts.
2- Use DLSS4 from the Nvidia APP. just click on "DLSS Override - Model Presets" option and select "Latest".
the latest DLSS is much better and it's sharp and stable across all scenarios including heavy movements. (with the expense of a very small trailing)
Some said you can't even look at 10 meters, I included clips where I look at distances, it looks crisp and clear. the vegetation and foliage is incredible (Majority of UE5 games WISH they look good as that).
in my case I need my frames to be stuck at 97 (I use vrr, g-sync and 100hz) so I use quality DLSS. and it still looks pretty good. (RTX 3060, R9 5900x). if you have better PC just play on Native DLAA option and you can always increase the graphics settings.
I wish more succes for this game, it really deserves much more but also the dev team need to go harder.
(Sorry guys, Youtube will destroy the quality of the video)
if you guys are sick of modern gaming technologies, you can turn of the whole Anti-Aliasing, it is always the best way to get the most raw image if you can stand the jagged edges.
Happy hunting, cowboys!
