Being our first time travelling to Borneo, we weren't sure what to expect! Kota Kinabalu is unlike any other city. It is small and quiet, but full of hidden gems. Our first day exploring Kota Kinabalu was very insightful, we walked by the city centre and also visited the central market. Kota Kinabalu is the capital of Malaysia's Sabah state. Borneo is the only island in the world to be separated into three countries: Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei.
