Laparoscopic Utero Vaginal Anastomosis for Cervical Atresia We recently treated a young woman with cervical atresia, a rare condition where the cervix is blocked since birth. She had undergone a failed surgery elsewhere. We performed a laparoscopic trachelectomy and connected the uterus directly to the vagina. This was our 51st successful case, making us one of the leading centers in India for Müllerian anomalies and endometriosis. Due to backflow from the blockage, she had developed severe endometriosis and both fallopian tubes had to be removed. IVF is now her only option to conceive. So far, nine of our patients with similar conditions have had successful IVF pregnancies. Just 24 hours after surgery, she is ready to travel back to Karnataka. A small catheter placed in the uterus will fall off on its own in six to eight weeks. She will follow up regularly and can plan for pregnancy after one year. Struggling with cervical atresia or endometriosis? Consult our experts early for the right treatment and better fertility outcomes. #CervicalAtresiaTreatment #LaparoscopicSurgeryIndia #ReproductiveHealth #InfertilityTreatment #DrJayMehta
