West Highland Way Day 7--Glencoe to Kinlochleven (The Devil's Staircase!)

Day 7 of my second West Highland Way journey began at the Glencoe Ski Center with my hiking partner Barb ‪@WanderFreeWithBarb‬ and I headed toward Kingshouse and the highlight of the day, the Devil's Staircase. This is a tough day on the West Highland Way, not so much the ascent of the Devil's Staircase, but the punishing descent into Kinlochleven for the remainder of the day. My suggestion is to not forget your trekking poles. You will want them on this day. We had hoped to enjoy a snack and a rest at the top of the staircase, but the midges had other ideas. We ended the day at Blackwater Hostel & Campground, where we treated ourselves to glamping pods. Kinlochleven is a lovely village with shops to resupply, restaurants, hotels and a beautiful park.
