This is how I almost got stuck in the tallest Otis Gen2 lift I’ve ever come across with 38 floors (if you count the basement and the mezzanine floors) which goes at a speed of 2.5 m/s I started the video like normal going all the way up to the 36th floor (top floor), but when I was filming the lift on the way down, I decided to emergency stop the lift by opening the inner doors with my hand and as this lift goes 2.5 m/s, this lift stopped extremely violently and the doors did ever so slightly open. About 10 seconds after the emergency stop, it was until that point I realised that this lift refused and there was a problem with the inner doors as it wasn’t connecting to safety (the doors must shut properly and connects to safety, if it doesn’t, it will not move). I kept on opening the doors with my hands and then trying to shut them properly and hopefully the safety connects but it didn’t so the only way to get out without pressing and holding the alarm button was to get out on a floor by reaching a door roller to escape. I somehow got extremely lucky when emergency stopping this lift and I can grab the door roller on the floor below but it was a very tight squeeze to get out which is why I stopped recording as I had to crawl my way to get out of the lift I cannot believe that I managed to get away from getting myself stuck in this lift because if I emergency stopped the lift at the wrong moment failing to reach a door roller then I would be stuck and I would have no choice but to rely on the alarm button which will get myself trapped in this lift for about an hour or even longer than that until help arrives. I was going to do a retake of these lifts but as the lift I almost got me stuck wasn’t working, these lifts were very busy so I couldn’t get a proper ride on them —————————————————————————— lift specifications and the proper video of these lifts will be coming up soon as I did come back to this building a few months later when all 3 lifts were working Date Filmed: Saturday 24th August 2024 Camera: iPhone 15 Pro
