Paralympic gold medallist Jed Altschwager knows first-hand the difference the right coach can make. After a life-changing accident and a rapid rise to the top of Para-rowing, Jed made history by winning Australia’s first Paralympic rowing gold at the Paris Games. But rather than returning to the boat, he chose to step into coaching, driven by a belief that great coaches can change lives, not just results. Through the AIS Gen32 Coach Program and his role with the South Australian Sports Institute Para Unit, Jed is now using his lived experience to support people with disability to connect with para sport, often for the first time, and to create environments where athletes feel capable, supported and confident. Here Jed shares his transition from athlete to coach, as well why investing in people behind the scenes is critical to the future of Para-sport. ---------------- For more on the #theAIS, visit: Web https://www.ais.gov.au/ TikTok / _theais_ Facebook / theais Instagram / theais_ Twitter / theais LinkedIn / australian-institute-of-sport
