Daniel Ferguson Daniel Ferguson was a caring soul who loved to live life on the edge. He always took on new challenges while involving the ones around him to grow outside of their comfort zone. He always knew how to tailor his communication to the person he was speaking with. He knew how to motivate you without the overwhelming need to micromanage. He truly found fulfillment in the success of his colleagues, and would always find a way to push the envelope. One of the things Dan took a lot of pride in was the “safe space culture”. I used to call him to ventilate about my thoughts on the business, and personal matters as he did the same with me. Despite the short amount of time I’ve known Dan, we’ve developed a very close bond where everything lied on the table. Dan was one of the few people in my life that actually met both my stepdad, and biological father… so to say he’s had an intimate look into my life is an understatement. I welcomed him into my life the same way he did for me. With full transparency, and willingness to build off one another. I think one of the coolest things about him was his ability to get someone to like him. Charisma you only see in the movies. I called him “Papa Bear”, because without him… the insurance sales department would NOT be what it is today. This thing is his baby, and the way we show our respects on the legacy he created is by doing what we say. I personally feel Dan embodied that value to his core… no pun intended. Dan would ALWAYS take into consideration how his people felt, and made sure we were heard. Even if it came at the expense of him sticking his neck out for you. That is my favorite quality about him. I never questioned if he had my back. Not only is that rare these days, but considering his position in the business.. his character was an anomaly. I’m thankful for the impact that Dan has had on my life. He’s taught me to be bold, and to have the tough conversations. He’s taught me how to protect my energy. Most importantly he taught me that corporate is not always just being a suit. Sometimes we gotta throw the dice, and take a risk in hopes of discovering something new. Dan, this is to your new life.
