In this lecture of Electrical Science Unit 2, we study Series and Parallel Resonance, an important concept in AC circuit analysis that explains how inductance and capacitance interact with alternating current. Resonance plays a major role in electrical and electronic circuits such as radio receivers, filters, and communication systems. The lecture begins with the concept of resonance in electrical circuits. Students will understand how resonance occurs when the inductive reactance and capacitive reactance become equal in magnitude. At this condition, the circuit behaves differently depending on whether it is a series or parallel configuration. We first discuss Series Resonance in RLC circuits. The condition for resonance, resonant frequency, and the behavior of impedance and current at resonance are explained clearly. Students will learn that at resonance the impedance becomes minimum and the current becomes maximum. Concepts such as quality factor (Q factor) and bandwidth are also introduced. After that, Parallel Resonance is explained. In this case the circuit shows maximum impedance at resonance and the current drawn from the source becomes minimum. The differences between series resonance and parallel resonance are discussed in a clear and exam oriented manner. The lecture also includes derivation of resonant frequency formulas and practical examples showing how resonance is used in tuning circuits and signal selection systems. From an exam perspective, resonance conditions, derivations of resonant frequency, and comparison between series and parallel resonance are frequently asked in 5 mark and 10 mark questions and also appear in viva examinations. 🎯 Who Should Watch This? • B.Tech (CSE / IT) students • BCA students • MCA students • Diploma Computer Engineering students • Students preparing for semester exams 🔥 Why Watch This Video? ✔ Simple and clear explanations ✔ Helpful for 5-mark & 10-mark questions ✔ Exam-oriented teaching approach ✔ Ideal for revision and concept strengthening 📚 Related Units: Electrical Science Unit 2 Electrical Science Unit 3 Electrical Science Unit 4 📘 Get FREE notes and video lectures ➤ Visit the website ➤ Log in ➤ Select your branch → Semester ➤ Select the Subject → Unit ➤ Scroll down for free notes This lecture covers resonance in AC circuits, series resonance in RLC circuits, parallel resonance, resonant frequency derivation, Q factor, bandwidth, and practical applications in electrical and electronic systems. #Resonance #SeriesResonance #ParallelResonance #ElectricalScience #ACCircuits #RLCcircuits #ElectricalEngineering #BTechEngineering #SemesterExam #EngineeringStudents #ElectricalBasics #Unit2
