Here's rare footage from a 11-25-90 MTV News broadcast with the cast of the Simpsons actually recording in character (albeit wearing fake noses and glasses as a "disguise") for the album The Simpsons Sing the Blues, which would be released 12-4-90. Includes Simpson merch report and interview clips with cast members like Dan Castellaneta, Nancy Cartwright, and Yeardley Smith, as well as director John Boylan, plus we included the original Bart Simpson voiceover from when the "Do The Bartman" video debuted on MTV. The BetaGems channel has an entire playlist of uploads called "Fox Network vintage ads & programming" and another named "Animation," where you can find uploads such as "1994 Simpsons for Butterfinger TV ad #1 In the Dark," "1994 Simpsons for Butterfinger TV ad #2 Beach Crab Battle," "1995 Butterfinger old man roller coaster TV commercial," "1995 Butterfinger BBs on the loose TV commercial," "4-5-87 Simpsons live action preview Dan Castellaneta & Julie Kavner," "1989 Simpsons Xmas special ad 'America's Funniest New Family' debut," and "12-17-89 Simpsons debut commercials, longlost Fox." BetaGems are culled from an archive of over 1000 beta video tapes recorded from 1983 into the 1990s. Most feature live music performances broadcast on television in San Diego CA, though there are also rarely seen commercials, comedy clips, and other material that doesn't seem to be anywhere else on Youtube or online. Most of the tapes were recorded on a Sony SL-HFT7 Super Beta Theater Hi-Fi Stereo - the same model was refurbished and is being used for these digital transfers and uploads. In rare occasions where a BetaGems clip does appear elsewhere, we're only uploading if our own beta master is better quality or contains material not seen previously. Much footage comes from public television and public access broadcasts that the taper monitored nightly for several years.
