Cheers! ~ Ellie ================================================================================= In this week's video we visit - Greece – the mountainous, Mediterranean country in the sun-drenched southeast of Europe, often considered the birthplace of Western civilization. Archaeological evidence suggests that wine has been made in some parts of Greece for more than 4000 years. Grapes have been grown in the ancient region of Northern Greece for thousands of years, as evidenced by ancient grape pips discovered in eastern Macedonia. Ktima Gerovassiliou is a single private vineyard stretching over 72 hectares. It is the brainchild of Vangelis Gerovassiliou. In 1981, he started reviving the family vineyard extending over 2.5 hectares in the Papamola region of Epanomi, approximately 25 km southeast of Thessaloniki.
