Avantgarde Music proudly announces the official reissue of Døden…, the long-sought 1998 demo from Danish black funeral doom pioneer Nortt. Originally recorded in October 1998 and released soon after in a very limited cassette edition, Døden… marked the second chapter in Nortt’s early creative cycle, following the 1997 demo Nattetale and preceding the cult recording Graven (1999). These formative works defined the project’s unique aesthetic, a bleak fusion of funeral doom’s suffocating weight and black metal’s spectral desolation, a sound the artist himself has described as “pure depressive black funeral doom metal.” With the official reissue of Døden…, Avantgarde Music revisits the very roots of that vision, a moment when the project’s haunting identity first began to take shape in the shadows of the late ‘90s underground. Døden… will be released on April 24th, 2026 in CD, LP, and limited cassette editions.
