KUTX Presents: The Point in Studio 1A Joe Roddy and Jack Montesinos first started this project together in high school. Technically that was only a few years ago but the two have been playing in the Austin music scene much much longer. The Austin Chronicle called them "Homegrown prodigy rockers". Roddy is the son of Austin rockabilly royalty Ted Roddy, whose biannual Elvis tribute, the King Conjure Orchestra, has been around since 1986. At the age of 12, Roddy first took the stage playing trumpet. Montesinos began even earlier, when his father would take him to play at the Historic Victory Grill's Monday blues nights at just 10 years old. Now in their early 20's, The Point released their sophomore album Maldito Animal produced by Beto Martinez of Grupo Fantasma, Caramelo Haze and Brownout.
