In many retrofit or new build projects distance and planning perspectives can be a challenge particularly if a Client requires the Heat Pump further away from the Property and that can be a residential or a commercial project. Planning and Distances The K Series Panasonic Air Source Heat Pump is a High Performance game changer for scenarios where the outdoor unit has to be further away from the building or on a higher level also. As a general guide, the 3.2 kW single fan unit can go up to 25 Meters from the indoor equipment, 50 Meters for the single fan 5, 7 & 9 kW units and for the Total Capacity T-CAP models 9, 12 & 16 kW can be installed up to 30 Meters away from the indoor equipment. Elevation is excellent also for buildings with split levels as the units can be installed 20 to 30 Meters Elevation so there really is so much flexibility. Installation Method For installation, unlike piping a Heat Pump System in 28mm or 35mm Copper Pipe, the K Series is piped with copper refrigerant pipe which uncoils along the pipe route seamlessly. Normally pre-insulated 20 Meters coils are used for installation projects. When we are making any joints in the pipework we tend to use MaxiPro copper Press Fit fittings which are reliable even at 48 Bar, we tend not to Braze so much due to preference of No Hot Works or Flames on site. Eco-Friendly ♻️ R32 is a really efficient refrigerant which is not only kinder to the planet having a GWP of 675 but there are no Safety Zone limitations on certain projects unlike some R290 projects. The K Series can deliver flow temperatures up to 60 degrees ♨️even when -10° outside 🥶 Where It works Best 💡 The K Series works exceptionally well in well insulated homes and buildings where the heating can be ran at an efficient flow temperature of 40°C or 50°C. To get the best COP results from the K Series would be an MCS Compliant Room by Room Survey, Insulate where possible and practical, upsize Emitters if Radiators wherever possible and use a Volumiser for guaranteed system volume. If opting for the All in One this is a fantastic choice however if a larger cylinder is required, the Panasonic Bi-Bloc with larger cylinder with a 3M coil would be a great alternative.
