What’s up guys it’s Sussan Mourad here with Clevver News and Selena Gomez got to swim with the sharks this week, and she didn’t even have to get her toes wet. Back in July, Selena’s friends surprised her with a video message from Mark Cuban – filled with memes and scenes from her favorite tv shows like The Office, Friends, and of course, Taylor Swift’s “…Ready For It” music video. But if this surprise wasn’t already cool enough - it wasn’t just any old cameo from Mark – someone that she’s admitted that she’s looked up to for a while. There was a second part to the surprise. Her friends Connar Franklin, Caroline Franklin, and Aaron Carpenter set up a visit to the set of Shark Tank once it picked back up again in the fall. Aw I love to see Selena happy like that! I love how pure and genuine her excitement was. I felt the same way when I got to see Selena Gomez perform way back in the day. And yesterday they finally got to make that visit. They got to hang out with the cast and crew, including Mark Cuban, Robert, Lori, Barbara, and Kevin. They visited the set and looked like they had the BEST time. She got to see the behind the scenes notes from Kevin. She got to walk out alongside Lori. And she got to sit in the shark seat with her friends. They even got a full tour of the set! One of Selena’s fans said “Selena looked so happy going to shark tank. She was honestly so excited” and another said “wasn’t selena supposed to appear on shark tank this month… so what happened about that” Well, Shark Tank stopped filming for the season just last week. So this was maybe a cameras-off visit. I don’t know if we’ll actually see her in the shark’s chairs on television anytime soon. For this season at least. But we did also get to take a look at some other photos of Selena at the Shark Tank set trying out some of the products for herself and posing with the cast. Selena hasn’t posted any photos herself yet, but you know I keep refreshing her feed to see them as soon as she does. But luckily for us her friends are posting all the photos anyway. Selena has been a big fan of the show for a long time. Back in July when she posted the video of her birthday surprise, her caption was “not many of you know but I am obsessed with Shark Tank. Two of my best friends nailed my gift” The set visit comes right after Selena’s recent trip to Boston that she made with Caroline and their other friend Raquelle Stevens While they were there, they spent time on famous Newbery Street and stopped by Harvard in Cambridge. But the main reason for her trip to the east coast was for Selena to speak at the McLean Hospital annual dinner. She discussed the importance of taking care of your mental health. She was very candid when speaking about her own mental health struggles saying quote, “It felt like all of my pain and anxiety washed over me all at once, and it was one of the scariest moments of my life,” she said “I sought support and the doctors were able to give me a clear diagnosis. The moment I received that information I actually felt equal parts of terrified and relieved.” Jay Ruderman shared a video of Selena’s speech at the event. Selena was able to share some of her experience online, telling her fans “So humbled to have been part of the incredible McLean Hospital’s Annual Dinner and was honored to be able to share a bit of my story….
