Distance runner Jane Hedengren of Timpview HS (UT) at 2024-25 Gatorade Player of the Year Awards

Recently graduated senior Jane Hedengren of Timpiew HS in Utah was named the 2024-25 Gatorade Girls National Cross Country and Track and Field Player of the Year this past school year. The 2024 Nike Cross Nationals champion and holder of TEN national high school indoor and outdoor track records (when including splits), she is among 11 athletes across 12 sports who are invited this week to Southern California for the Gatorade Player of the Year awards festivities, with the overall winner (all sports) being named live on ESPN on Wednesday at about 7 pm PST in conjunction with the ESPYS. We sat down with Jane for an interview on the infield of the iconic Rose Bowl in Pasadena to get some final thoughts on his recent season. All 11 athletes met with pro athletes (including former Gatorade national POY winner Katelyn Tuohy) during an interactive "sports lab" where Gatorade POY winners undertook testing in various sports skills (soccer, baseball, basketball, running, etc.) to measure the effects of Gatorade hydration on an athlete's performances.
