APSC Cloud Webinar of Cardiovascular Disease Assessment & Management of Valvular Heart Diseases (II): Aortic Valve Disease August 04 (Wed), 2021 16:30-18:15 PM Synopsis Valvular heart disease have been become a new target of innovation in medical device technology, particularly for minimally invasive or even noninvasive therapy. Transcatheter aortic valve replacement is the most well-known example. In the Aortic Valve Disease session (II) of APSC Cloud Forum of Valvular Heart Diseases, we’d review the updated severity classification of aortic valve stenosis and aortic regurgitation by cardiac imaging, followed by current medical interventional versus surgical management of aortic valve stenosis in congenital (bicuspid) and degenerative (tricuspid) mechanism, aortic valve stenosis in HFrEF especially when low-flow and low gradient, as well as timing of surgery for severe aortic regurgitation. From congenital to degenerative, from normal to failing heart, aortic valve stenosis and aortic regurgitation management are presenting a new world of biotechnology-aiding medicine. Learning objective 1. Understanding contemporary risk classification of aortic valve stenosis versus aortic valve insufficiency; 2. Updating contemporary management of congenital bicuspid versus degenerative tricuspid valve stenosis, as well as significant aortic valve stenosis in heart failure with reduced EF; 3. Relooking on the decision-making point for surgical approach for acute and chronic aortic valve insufficiency.
