Jack With Killer are an amazing thrashcore band that shares members with Julius and Dunkelheit. Relentless and, as the name of the genre implies, thrashing, I’m shocked that non-Japanese audiences still haven’t given them their flowers, what with the quality of their music. The other band on this split should be far more familiar to people, Life (short for Liberty Independence Freedom Equality) are a legendary OG crust band from Tokyo. Although they still haven’t played outside of their home country (which will hopefully change soon, thanks to their recent booking on the then-cancelled 2025 edition of CY Fest), they already have an incredible allure about them, thanks to their music being among the best of 90s Japanese hardcore is. Truly untouchable crust punk is what makes up their side of this brief, incredible split. Both of these bands should be far more famous than they are. Check it out!
