This video details my full restoration of a truly iconic bike in the world of cycling, a 1971 Peugeot PX-10. Raced by legends like Eddy Merckx, Tom Simpson, Bernard Thévenet and Felice Gimondi, this Peugeot set the benchmark of quality at the time. Built from Reynolds 531, double butted tubing and adorned in Simplex, Stronglight, Mafac & Campagnolo components, it was cutting edge for its era. The project involved a full disassembly, thorough cleaning, and careful inspection of each part. The frame received a fresh coat of paint, preserving its vintage appeal. Worn components were replaced with period-correct parts, and all bearings were cleaned and regreased. The wheels were trued and the brakes and gears finely tuned. The result is a beautifully restored Peugeot PX10 that not only looks stunning but rides smoothly, paying homage to its legacy as a revered classic road bike.
