Firewire Dominator 2.0 Surfboard Review and Board Drop Test

In this episode I review a high performance shortboard Firewire Dominator 2.0 designed by Dan Mann. I’ll perform a board drop test to demonstrate the durability of the new Helium technology. I will also show what performance the Dominator 2 can deliver to an intermediate surfer from knee up to shoulder high waves. After I put 8 sessions on the board, I couldn’t find any foot impressions on the deck nor on the rails. It’s really impressive and I couldn’t be happier however I tend to ding my boards from time to time at the parking lot or when I’m too stoked on pumping waves while running to the beach. I got a small scratch on the rail after it hit the metal fence of my dog’s playpen. So, I was really curious about the durability of the new Helium construction by doing a board drop test as the original Helium was pretty durable. The Dominator 2 doesn’t like to easily give up on waves no matter what conditions out there. It basically files through flat sections despite the heavy winds or chop. It’s packed with performance and my favorite feature is a release off the tail. To take a full advantage of this board, I’d recommend it for intermediate and above that level surfers. More advanced beginners can definitely ride it but will likely struggle on making steep drops, generating speed and doing the turns. Don't forget to click the subscribe button and enjoy this episode!
