By refraining from this mental activity, the veil of Samsara can be lifted, and we can reconnect with the underlying Oneness that permeates all of existence. The key, he emphasizes, is to stop constantly conjuring up separate things in our minds and to instead recognize the ever-present reality of Love and Consciousness that transcends all of our conceptual frameworks. He explains that it’s the belief in the independent existence of objects and phenomena that leads to a cycle of delusion and suffering (Samsara). Labeling and defining things is what transforms the neutral illusion (of Maya) into the harmful delusion of Samsara. This is in contrast with the perception of a young child, who experiences the world without the burden of conceptual thought.
