Tiburon, California is full of fun things to do like delicious restaurants, shopping along main street, a shoreline path walk and a visit to the old Tiburon rail museum. Hi, I'm Michael Johnson with Film Compass and in today's travel guide we'll discover all the fun things to do in Tiburon, California. 00:00 Intro 0:20 Ferry 01:05 Shopping 01:43 Sam's Cafe 02:07 Shoreline Path 02:48 Rail Museum 1. Tiburon Ferry - A ferry ride to this small town can be booked with the Golden Gate Ferry service fleet with roundtrip tickets to Tiburon only costing $28. The ferry lasts approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on if there is a stop at Angel Island along the way. Stops to Angel Island usually only happen on the weekend so if you’re going to Tiburon during the weekdays your ferry ride should be shorter. The best part about riding the ferry to Tiburon is all the sights you’ll see along the way. The San Francisco skyline emerges as you depart and makes for an excellent photo opportunity. Further into your journey you’ll pass by Alcatraz Island in the distance and take a sharp turn around Angel Island before making it to Tiburon’s ferry dock. 2. Shopping in Tiburon - shopping in this small town is a great way to start your adventure here. There’s many unique shops that are one of a kind and special to this place. The local spicery is a great place to start but if you’re looking for unique items then I would head to one of Tiburon’s boutiques. Two boutiques come to mind when visiting here, the first is Ella Lafay with its fashionable clothing. Next up there’s Mainstreet Mercantile with its large selections of décor that’s perfect for the home. Tiburon’s downtown shops are full of unique items and gifts that make this town’s shopping experience a true joy for those visiting. 3. Sam’s Anchor Café - this is one of Tiburon’s best restaurants and a true local dining experience. This restaurant has been serving customers in the bay area for over 100 years. Sam's has long been famous for its fresh seafood, fun atmosphere and spectacular views of Angel Island, Alcatraz and the San Francisco skyline. When dining here I recommend grabbing brunch, a plate of french toast or if lunch or dinner is what you crave then dive in to some of Sam’s famous seafood. Whatever the occasion, Sam’s restaurant is a must when visiting Tiburon. 4. Shoreline Path - next up is the .5 mile round trip walk along the shores of Tiburon. This path is where the locals come to take in the sailboats and scenery on cool mornings. The path is very close to downtown and ends with a nice dock that extends out to Elephant Rock. Walking along this path is a great way to soak up the long distance views and Angel Island. Further down the road you’ll follow Paradise Drive and come to Lyford's Stone Tower that was built in the 1890’s and was designated the first historical landmark of Tiburon. 5. Tiburon Railroad & Ferry Depot Museum - the Tiburon Rail Museum is located right along Shoreline Path and offers visitors a peak into the town’s history. The museum covers Point Tiburon’s railroad and ferry service to northern California and its large influence on trade. The museum also features Blackie the horse and includes other scaled models of ferries and the town’s infrastructure. With its rich railroad and ferry history - it’s easy to see that Tiburon is more than just a waterfront town. So take the next Golden Gate Ferry to this wonderful place and discover all the great restaurants and good times Tiburon, California has to offer. I hope you enjoyed this Tiburon Travel Guide - stay tuned for more videos and thanks for watching.
