HOW TO MAKE SLOPPY JOE SANDWICHES | RICHARD IN THE KITCHEN

In this video I show you how to make sloppy Joe sandwiches with a homemade sloppy Joe sauce. Shopping List: 1 lb. ground beef chuck 80/20 1 tbs. cooking oil 1 cup water ½ finely diced green bell pepper ½ finely diced small sweet onion 2 cloves chopped garlic ¾ cup ketchup or tomato sauce Dash of Worcestershire sauce 2 tbs. light brown sugar 1 tsp. Dijon mustard 1 ½ tsps. Kosher salt ½ tsp. course black pepper Hamburger buns American cheese slices (optional) Directions: Pre-heat a skillet over medium high heat then add the oil. Begin browning the ground beef. About halfway through the browning, add the peppers, onion and garlic. Continue to cook until the meat is browned and the veggies are softened. Drain any excess grease. Add the ketchup (or tomato sauce), Worcestershire, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper. Stir to combine then add the water. Stir and reduce the heat to low and simmer for 30-40 minutes until all of the liquid has evaporated. Serve on hamburger buns and enjoy!
