A Trippy Visual Experience and Space Eels? I'm Into that FreQuency | THRASHER | Next Fest 2025 [VOD]

Steam Next Fest is over but my backlog is still full. So we're going to play a few games hoping to discover some hidden indie gems. Thrasher is an audiovisual experience where you guide a space eel through trippy alien worlds. Speed through rings, break through barriers, and race against the clock as you try to clear stages as fast as possible. Simple gameplay, easy to understand mechanics, but the execution level ramps up in this challenging game. If you enjoyed the trippy visuals of FreQuency, Amplitude, or Child of Eden, take a look at this one. I went into this game not fully knowing what to expect, but I had a lot of fun. It isn't completely like Thumper, but you can definitely see how this could be kind of a spiritual successor. Graphically, it is just stunning, even down to the feelers on your space eel. I think the challenge aspect will speak to a few of us, and keep us trying to improve our time.
