Abume, although one of the affected towns by the spillage, had been somewhat overlooked by many due to its location. Recognizing the plight of the people and the challenges they faced, the Okuapehene deemed it necessary to reach out and provide assistance to the residents of Abume. The delegation, led by the Nifahene of Akuapem, Osuodumgya Otutu Ababio V, who also holds the title of the Chief of Adukrom, included Apiredihene Okogyeahene Saforo Okoampa, chiefs from the Gyase Division, chiefs from the Nifa Division, and Ankobeafo from the Okuapehene's palace.
