Imran Khan Toshakhana case hearing, Imran Khan health update, Shifa International Hospital petition, Aleema Khan statement, Islamabad High Court hearing, PTI news today, Pakistan politics latest news. Important developments have emerged from the Islamabad High Court regarding former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s legal cases and health concerns. The court heard arguments on the criminal appeal filed in the Toshakhana case, which was originally decided on 5 August 2023 by Judge Humayun Dilawar, leading to Imran Khan’s conviction and arrest. Later, on 28 August 2023, the Islamabad High Court granted bail in the same case, although the conviction resulted in his disqualification from parliamentary politics and the 2024 general elections. During today’s hearing, a bench comprising Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir and Justice Khadim Hussain Soomro considered arguments related to Imran Khan’s health condition and medical examination, particularly the request that he be transferred to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad for specialized treatment of his eye problem. PTI lawyers argued that Imran Khan has been complaining about his eye condition since October, but jail authorities allegedly delayed proper medical evaluation for several months. Senior lawyer Latif Khosa told the court that the matter concerns Imran Khan’s life and health and requires urgent attention. He requested the court to allow Imran Khan to be examined and treated by his personal physicians, including Dr. Faisal Sultan and Dr. Asim Yusuf, who are familiar with his full medical history. According to the defense team, the medical examination conducted at PIMS Hospital was inadequate because there was no retina specialist available. During the hearing, Aleema Khan also addressed the court, stating that the family had not been allowed to meet Imran Khan despite previous directions and that he had been kept in solitary confinement since October 2025. She emphasized that the family’s only demand is to ensure proper medical treatment and transparency regarding his health. The judges questioned government representatives about the procedures followed in medical treatment and asked whether the state would take responsibility if any serious harm occurred to Imran Khan’s health. The government opposed transferring Imran Khan to Shifa International Hospital, stating that his current health condition is stable and that a medical board has already examined him. However, the court noted that it had not yet received a formal medical board report, and judges questioned whether decisions could be made solely on statements from jail authorities. After hearing arguments from both sides, the Islamabad High Court ordered the formation of a new medical board to conduct Imran Khan’s medical examination. At the same time, the court rejected the request to immediately transfer him to Shifa International Hospital. The division bench also directed authorities to ensure that Imran Khan’s family and lawyers are allowed to meet him in accordance with the earlier order of a three-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice Sarfraz Dogar, which had not yet been fully implemented. Following the hearing, PTI leaders and lawyers addressed the media. Salman Akram Raja stated that the cases against Imran Khan are politically motivated and that when hearings take place, the weaknesses in the prosecution’s arguments become clear. Meanwhile, Salman Safdar said that appeals in the Toshakhana-II case have now been admitted for hearing, expressing hope that the case may be heard during the last week of Ramadan. These developments come at a critical time in Pakistan’s political landscape, as Imran Khan remains in Adiala Jail while legal battles continue in multiple courts. Supporters argue that the outcome of these hearings could have major implications for Pakistan’s political future and the leadership of PTI.
